Report on washroom construction at Dogar Brick Kiln, Shah Kot

The societal well-being of Christians in slums has been one of the main functions of CFAM. While Audio Bible distribution on 4th June 2023, at Dogar Brick kiln district Shah Kot.

Some elder members of ten families raised a request for the installation of toilets for females at their brick kiln.

They told me and my team that they are tired of making requests to the owner of the brick kiln. They informed that young girls, married and old females go far in the field for urine and toilet. These women go to the fields early morning which is unsafe for them. Often there are rape and other incidents happen among these communities. There are medical problems that occur in unhygienic field areas. These communities are poor and cannot afford medical.

So, we all decided to support them, to give women safer and hygienic toilet facilities. To make this happen, on 19th June 2023 we called our dear brother Waseem Sohail, coordinator of Sheikhupura & Faisalabad in our office, and asked to have an estimate of toilet installation

He first took permission from the owner of the brick kiln to install the toilet. Then he gave us the estimate. We provide the amount as per his estimate; he supervised all construction work of the toilet.

Now, females and all the elders are very obliged to Christ for all ministry. They appreciated our sincere and courageous efforts.

The whole of the team had been much concerned about this women’s issue. Now everyone is proud of the step taken by the team.

Again, thank you team Canada that we both were putting our best to serve Christians in challenging conditions.
