Dear Brothers and Sisters, I want to share something deeply impactful that happened to me on Friday, May 3, 2024. I received a call from Nouman, who had been captured a year ago. He shared with me his testimony over the phone, and it moved me deeply. Despite his circumstances, Nouman Riaz's faith remains strong. Nouman had to trade for a phone, paying 500 Thai baht, just to make this call. He described his life in prison over the past year—medically unwell, with skin diseases and black dots all over his body due to lack of sun. His meals consist only of rice and cucumber soup, barely filling his stomach. Basic needs like a proper place to sleep and sufficient food are luxuries. Even when someone visits him, he has…

Mission Trip to Bangkok Thailand December 2023

Dear beloved brothers and sisters,I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your unwavering prayers and support. I am back from my journey, and it has been a profound experience reconnecting with my homeland after seven years. The journey had its challenges, with a delayed departure from Vancouver and rigorous security checks during the transfer to China. Despite my initial apprehension upon arriving in Thailand due to a five-year ban, the grace of God, coupled with the Canadian Passport, facilitated a smooth entry. Upon reaching the hotel, without even taking a moment to rest, I delved into planning and meetings. Kazu graciously met me at my brother's place, and we engaged in a three-hour discussion for the upcoming days. In this brief period, I had the privilege…

"In the face of adversity and attacks on our churches in Jaranawala and Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan, our team remains steadfast in helping our brothers and sisters. The recent incidents have left a deep impact on our community, and we continue to rely on our faith and God's presence. In Faisalabad, one of our independent churches with more than 200 family members had to flee their homes due to the fear of persecution. They have spent their lives here, and it's heart-wrenching to see them displaced. But this Sunday, they will gather again to start their church and Sunday school. Their determination is an inspiration, and we have started sharing the story of David with their children, teaching them that God is always with us, providing and protecting them. However, the fear…

On August 17th, I visited the Immigration Detention Center at Bang Kehn, Bangkok. A week earlier, CFAM received the information that Mr. Noman Riaz (a Pakistani asylum seeker in Thailand) had been detained for overstaying since last May. After discussing the matter, we decided to go to the IDC to meet with Mr. Noman. Initially, our intention was to provide encouragement to him, as he was in a poor condition at the IDC. We brought along some basic daily foods for his comfort, such as bread, instant noodle soup, snacks, and more. Additionally, we aimed to gather more information not only about his situation but also about other inmates. This would enable us to take more concrete actions to support those who are facing difficulties. As I arrived at the entrance…
